Another instance of the view from our apartment. I do this in every painting, if at all possible--that is, take from the world before me something unique, like a thought, which will occur once, and only once. If so much time is to be invested in a piece, then the piece should not be like any other. And for the purchaser of any of these works, it is not an investment like any other: it is not a numbers game, it is merely the cost of exploration. My own investment surely exceeds anything I may hope to gain by these efforts: the rewards do not necessarily come to me; and if there is a god, then why should that bother anyone in the least?
