A Place Called Home...
one of the nicest things about painting landscapes is sitting
outside, unobstructed, unhurried, unbothered, by the so many things which tend to force
our lives into a restrained, overly obligated mold; it is not without reason that
artists have been called anarchists, rebels, non-conformists; we resist conventionality.

There is never anything too quaint in what I paint,
nor anything pretty or picturesque; the subjects I lean towards are often run-down,
disused, unnoticed areas that nevertheless have been, or are, part of someone's ordinary
life. There is a tremendous amount of beauty to be found in throw-away scenes.
If these scenes become something to others, then I have done my job well. |
