The paintings looking
down the river were painted while standing in a small alcove on the other side of the near
tower. Dust is horrendous, the noise maddening. I do not do this for the
people who will see me, for there were several who shot off their mouths, and one drunk
who waved a gun about carelessly. I do this without regard for appreciation.
