Yellow Field
18" x 24" |

The man of the
underearth,
hidden and listening,
writes the secret book of life,
layered in breccia, and sediments of time,
passages of year and day marks thought unconscious,
now with shawl of Marigold and Cedar trees,
now trodden by tired legs;
it is a long way to carry my things,
while the pain sings tirelessly
the funeral march of the marionette.
The old man of the Marigold field is home in his land;
by day tending the day,
by night dreaming the Earth's timeless dreams.
